I met SLS at exhibition in China. Julia talked with me for almost an hour during our first meeting! I shared some drawings, and she analyzed on the spot, giving me some simple explanation using the product catalog. After I sent all my drawings to the SLS team, their professional analysis, timely service, and reasonable pricing ultimately led to our collaboration.
1. Our business is quite diversified. Besides exhaust pipes, we also have car modification and greenhouse projects. For this equipment upgrade of the exhaust production, I discussed with Julia the possibility of sharing machine with other projects.
The SLS team understood me. They considered the power requirements and energy consumption of large machine for small pipes, as well as the inefficiency of toolings change and adjustment due to accommodating too many products. As a compromise, SLS recommended the 76CNC, whose capabilities can fully meet and improve my efficiency of exhaust, while also handling part of my other business without adding extra risks and costs. This was a pleasant surprise!
The SLS team provided me with detailed solution. I was concerned about flattening or wrinkling during bending, they provided corresponding anti-wrinkle molds and mandrels to ensure a smooth bend surface. I was also concerned about pipe springback, and they demonstrated how to program it for control. I simply load the pipe in, and machine automatically completes all bends, perfectly matching my gauge.
2. Time difference was a significant factor in our communication. Julia organized three online meetings for me, and their engineers answered many questions, making the communication very quick. Besides price, I was also concerned about warranty, spare parts, and shipping. Julia provided all of this within two days, including detailed warranty terms, spare parts list with delivery dates, and estimated shipping costs. From procurement to later use, I was able to grasp most of the risks and costs. Later I added two new products and also ordered two new sets of toolings from SLS, both of which were completed ahead of schedule. The timely arrival of the molds didn't delay my production schedule, which I was very satisfied with.
3. Chinese products do indeed have a good price. I also saw other pipe bending machines at exhibition, but SLS's machines were reasonably priced, and the parts were from brands I'm very familiar with. Considering services of other companies, I still prefer the SLS team – their prices are reasonable, their configurations are clear, and their response time is fast.
