DEFINE MACHINE TERMS TO HELP CHOOSE A SUITABLE MODEL OF PIPE AND TUBE BENDER

NC Mandrel Pipe Bending Machine:

Numerically controlled draw mandrel tube and pipe hydraulic bender which is suitable for simple bending shape. It is a practical semi-automatic solution for small to medium productions environments.

Mandrel bending is a method of rotary draw bending, in which – the mandrel, a solid mandrel shaft with up to five segmented, donut shaped, balls that are just slightly smaller than the ID of the pipe/tube that is being bent – is inserted into the pipe/tube to provide internal support during bending.

CNC Mandrel Pipe Bending Machine:

PLC or IPC Controlled draw mandrel tube and pipe bender which can be 2 or 3 axis controlling according to customer’s requirement.
CNC automatic pipe bending machine bend tubes with the highest efficiency, dynamics and precision. The hybrid concept unites the advantages of electrical and hydraulic drive technology. CNC Pipe Bending Machine with Multi-Stack:

If you need more than one bend in your tube the next question to consider is can they all be to the same radius.
We often see drawings that require two or three different bend radii that are, In this case,then you may need a two stack, three stack or even a multi-stack machine to finish the whole bending process without change different radius tooling.

Basic draw benders are what is called single stack, that is they can only take one set of tooling, at a time. Now, it is technically feasible to make a bend with one radius tooling, remove the tube, change tooling to another radius and make another bend, but it is tricky to get back to exactly the same datum and you can see how much more time is involved, so it is rarely done.

CNC Pipe Bending Machine with Push Bending(Rolling)Function:

This can easily achieve a very large radius bend compared to rotary draw bending. A style of bending where the bend arm is moved positive a few degrees, then the tube is pushed through a set of rollers to create the bend. A set of rollers placed on clamp die position and on the pressure die position. All rollers rotate freely. A 3D-shaping is possible. The pipe is guided between bending-rolls and supporting-rolls, while being pushed through the tools. The position of the forming-roll defines the bending radius. To change the bending plane, a pusher rotates the tube around its longitudinal axis.

CNC Pipe Bending Machine with Booster Function:

When small CLR bending is required or wall thinning is critical,booster function has the most efficient and innovative solution for producing extra-tight radius bends with minimal deformation.
The pressure die assist/booster cylinder is integrated into the pressure die carrier head.
In general bending process, tube wall thickness at outer angle turns thinner due to material elongation, and wrinkles at inner angle by material squeeze. In prevention tube deformation/breakage of tight radius, SLS tube bender equips rear booster force, with assistance of side boosting (pressure die booster), which can be adjusted in accordance with bending speed, material nature, bending degree, etc. When we use the booster device, in conjunction with a fully hydraulic CNC bending machine, we enable precision parts replication with minimal process times as well as remove the possibility of human error.
Centerline Radius (CLR): Is the measurement of the tube or pipe radius that you will be mandrel or rotary draw bending. This is the distance in mm or inches from the center of tube or pipe curvature to the centerline axis of the pipe or tubing that you will be mandrel bending, or rotary draw bending.
Here is an easy way to measure the CLR:

Step 1: If there is a bended sample tube or pipe available, place the tube or pipe that you want to bend on a large piece of paper on the floor.

Step 2: Tracing the sample tube or pipe that you would like to mandrel bend onto the paper, continuing the pattern until you have made a full circle with the tube or pipe that you are working with.

Step 3: Measure (in mm or inches) from the center of the tube or pipe to the center of your drawn circle.
●Easy Way (EW): This is bending the workpiece on its short side during the mandrel bending process; bending of a rectangular tube or pipe.
●Hard Way (HW): This is bending the workpiece on its long side during the mandrel bending process; bending of a rectangular tube or pipe.
